Why Biology 

“When I was in middle school, I had a teacher who made science fun. It is because of him that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in science.” 

Professional Experience

For more than eight years, Felisha worked as a medical laboratory scientist at the Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas at Austin. In this role, she worked in the transfusion service area of the laboratory, providing quality testing of patient samples in order to select the best possible blood donor units for transfusion. Felisha also worked as an administrative assistant at Texas State University for two years. 

She will begin her first year of teaching at East View High School during the 2021–2022 school year. 

Volunteer Experience

Felisha plays the clarinet with Central Texas Musical Arts, a volunteer-based community orchestra that performs free concerts for the local community. 

Hobbies  

Felisha enjoys going on walks with her daughters and her husband, and engaging in other outdoor activities, like launching rockets.
