Why Chemistry

“In my teaching, I hope to better give my students opportunities to see chemistry in their lives and understand how the molecular level affects how they experience the world around them.”

Professional Experience

After college, Katherine worked at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland, where she helped redesign curriculum for outdoor science, physics, chemistry, and biology classes at the museum. During her internship, she got to experience and better understand the world of informal science education.

Also, Katherine spent one school year teaching reading and math at an elementary school and math at a high school (night school).

Katherine began teaching chemistry and biology at Mountain View High School during the 2017–2018 school year.


Katherine enjoys yoga, hiking, and baking in her free time.
