Professional Experience

Throughout college, Alicia worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant in general and organic chemistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. For several semesters, she also worked as a field trip docent at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, where she taught elementary students all about pollinators and Alabama ecosystems.

Alicia spent two summers working as a STEM education intern, teaching biotechnology camps for middle and high school students at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Alabama. 

Alicia will begin her first year of teaching at Vestavia Hills High School during the 2020–2021 school year. 

Hobbies

Alicia enjoys rock climbing and acroyoga.
