Why Mathematics
“I love patterns and riddles, which inevitably leads me to love math. I believe this discipline is under-appreciated and misrepresented in school, which leads many students to have a negative disposition towards math. My goal in pursuing this discipline is to make math accessible to all students and to infect them with the passion to continue to learn and do math.”
Professional Experience
As an undergraduate student, Thach worked as a peer learning facilitator. In this role, he helped fellow students develop competency in calculus. Post graduation, he worked as a private tutor for students in grade four through twelve. Thach also worked as a AVID tutor at his alma mater, El Monte High School. Through the AVID program, he tutored students in various math courses and assisted with the college application process.
Hobbies
Thach enjoys biking, hiking, jogging, gardening, swimming, eating, cooking and reading.
