Whitney James

I believe a teacher should help instill a passion for lifelong learning in students so they have the capacity to become contributing members of society and can tackle whatever life sends their way. Teachers act as supporters, encouragers, and mentors.”

Whitney’s Story

Teaching Discipline

Math

Why Math

Growing up, mathematics is something I shared a love for, with my father and grandfather. I think it is a beautiful subject that many students have negative feelings towards and I hope to help change that.

Professional Experience

During college, Whitney tutored math and physics students. During the 2021–2022 school year, she taught high school algebra and differential geometry.

Whitney will begin her second year of teaching at Lincoln Northeast High School during the 2022–2023 school year.

Hobbies

Whitney loves to travel and spent four months in college studying abroad in Spain. Recently, she started taking spin classes and is enjoying the experience.
